1. Are you a consignment store?

a. No. Everything in our store is donated with the proceeds going to the Tuition Assistance Fund at Oldenburg Academy.

2. When do you take items?

a. We graciously accept donations anytime during regular store hours.

3. Do you pick up items?

a. No. We would prefer that you deliver your items to the store. However, if you have furniture we may be able to assist you in getting it delivered to the store. Just give us a call and we will see if we can help you out.

4. What type of items do you take?

a. We accept the following items: clothing (men’s, woman’s and children’s), shoes, furniture, toys, housewares, home décor, books, jewelry, small appliances and music/videos. If you would like to donate something not on the list, just give us a call and we will let you know if we can accept it.

5. Can I get a tax-donation receipt?

a. Yes! We will be happy to give you a tax-donation receipt any time you bring items in. Please be advised that the Internal Revenue Service requires that donors estimate the market value of the contributions. Should you need assistance in valuing your donations, please consult your tax advisor.

6. Do you accept items anytime or just seasonally?

a. We accept items all year. We will hold those items that are out of season until the time is right to put them on the floor.

7. How should I bring in my items for donations?

a. We ask that items that are donated be clean without holes, stains and tears. Please make sure that all the buttons are there and that zippers work. We ask that you do not donate any broken items.

8. How do I shop resale?

• Shop often (new items daily)
• Check for defects-most items are not returnable. Shop owners try to look over incoming items carefully but may miss something.
• Visit other resale shops-All shops are different.
• Always check a size smaller and larger than you normally wear (because brands run differently).
• Carry a measuring tape and measurements of you and your family members.
• Ask about a return policy.
• Wish List - if you're looking for something in particular, let us know. Some shops will call you if they get that item in!
• Mailing List - ask if we have a mailing list! Some shops periodically send out special coupons and notices!
• Check websites for coupons or specials.
• If you like it, buy it, it may not be there when you come back for it.
